Visitors to our websites
When anyone visits www.handbagsandbriefcases.co.uk standard internet log information and details of visits is collected using Google Analytics to identify the number of visitors to the various parts of our site and behaviour whilst visiting the site, e.g. which pages were of interest etc. This information is collected in a way that does not identify anyone and does not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting the website. Any data gathered from this site will not be associated with any personal identifying information from other sources. Clear notification will be given if personal identifiable information is to be collected and full disclosure of the intended use of that information will be explained.
We use “opt-out” Cookies on the website, which are small text files that are placed on your computer when you visit and is used to make the website perform more efficiently, as well as to provide information to us. Visitors need to actively “opt-out” if they do not want this information to be available to us. Email email@example.com if you would like to know more about which cookies we use and why.
Individuals who use our services
In order to provide a subscription service we have to hold your contact details, which will be held securely and not passed to third party suppliers*. We only use these details to provide the service you have requested and closely related purposes e.g. to send you a satisfaction survey to find out if you are happy with the level of service provided or inform you about relevant marketing news and information. Your subscription can be cancelled at any time by using the unsubscribe link on the communication received.
We will not hold your personal information longer than necessary. And data is held securely online. Your details are also held in our online accounting system Xero, which is secure and password protected.
Members data is also held on our mail system MailChimp, and you can opt out at any time through the Unsubscribe link.
Non-members data is held in MailChimp, through online sign up or contact requesting adding to our mailing list. The option to Unsubscribe is included on every mailing.
Disclosure of individual’s information*
We commit to not selling your data on to any third parties without your express permission to do so. We understand that you trust us with your personal information and we are committed to ensuring you can manage the privacy and security of your personal information yourself.
We will only share an individual’s information with third party suppliers in order to provide you with the relevant services described in ‘Individuals who use our services’.
Complaints or queries
We work hard to meet the highest standards when collecting and using an individual’s information. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. Please contact us in writing at firstname.lastname@example.org if you believe our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate.
Access to your information
You can find out if we hold your information by making a ‘subject access request’ under the Data Protection Act 1998. If we do hold information about you we will:
give you a description of it;
tell you why we are holding it;
tell you who it could be disclosed to; and
let you have a copy of the information in an intelligible form.
